Happening Now: Hausas Burning, Killing Residents In Agiliti, Mile 12

Hoodlums, believed to be from the Hausa ethnic group are reportedly burning houses and killing residents in Agiliti, Mile 12 area of Lagos.

The resurgent of inter-ethnic clash between Hausas and Yorubas on Tuesday had seen the death of no fewer than 10 people, with scores injured and over 100 suspects arrested by security agencies.
Lagos State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode Yesterday ordered closure of the Mile 12 and also imposed curfew in the area.

On Friday, residents told a greennews.ng that despite the curfew, arsonists allegedly from Hausa extraction, during the night, were invading houses in Agiliti area and killing residents believed to be Yorubas in a reprisal attack.

A resident who craved anonymity said at 2:00pm on Thursday Hausas were burning houses in the area, saying thick smoke was emerging from the community.
The source said, although, there has been heavy security presence in the area, the area is far from being peaceful.
