Chelsea release statement backing Jose Mourinho after Stamford Bridge crisis talks

CHELSEA have given Jose Mourinho a vote of confidence saying he has their full support.

The Blues boss is under mounting pressure after the Premier League champions suffered a shock 3-1 home defeat to Southampton on Saturday.
After the match, the 52-year-old then went on a seven minute rant on Sky Sports after the match, where he challenged the Chelsea board to sack him.

And he later said he would leave Stamford Bridge IF, he lost the trust of his dressing room.
"People can say what they want. People should ask the players and not go with fake sources," he said.

"However, we believe that we have the right manager to turn this season around and that he has the squad with which to do it."
With Liverpool sacking Brendan Rodgers yesterday, Mourinho had been linked with a move to Anfield.
Don Hutchison, who played 45 times for the Reds, insisted the Chelsea boss would guarantee trophies if he went to Liverpool.
"Jose in at Liverpool…What an appointment that would be. Guarantee trophys (sic)," he said on Twitter.
