ATP RANKINGS 04-04-2016: reach another ranking milestone after Miami title!

After winning his 6th Miami title and record 28th Masters 1000 crown, Novak Djokovic also reaches another ranking milestone. Namely, the Serb is 8725 points in front of Andy Murray in second place, which is far more than Murray's points tally.

This gap is also the greatest between the first and second player in the history of the ATP rankings! This is a 193rd week at the top for Novak, and also, 92nd in a row (both strikes are 5th best since 1973). In the last 12 months, Novak has played in 16 ATP events, with mind-blowing consistency: W W F W F F W W W W W W W QF W W, so this huge gap between him and the rest of the field is nothing strange. In the current situation, Novak has guaranteed to stay in the first place at least until Wimbledon and will pass Pete Sampras in 4th place for the most consecutive weeks as the number 1, behind only Lendl, Connors, and Federer.

Behind Novak, there were no changes in the Top 12, despite big points that Miami has offered, with David Goffin in career-best 13th after reaching Miami semi-final. Nick Kyrgios, who also advances to the last 4, gained 6 positions to crack the Top 20 for the first time in career, also being Australia's new number 1 ahead of Bernard Tomic. He is also the biggest mover in the Top 40, with no significant changes in that group. Andrey Kuznetsov also jumped for 6 spots, to be 45th, with Guido Pella as the biggest loser in the Top 50, going down to 46th. After two great weeks in Challengers, Dudi Sela is now 60th, moving 24 places which is the most among the Top 100 players.
