Football Leaks: All of the biggest secret contract clauses

New information relating to El Mundo's Football Leaks series continues to enter the public realm, with documents obtained by Der Spiegel and shared by the EIC research network shining a light on the particularities of certain footballing deals. On this occasion, the latest batch of leaks pertains to a number of interesting clauses in star players' contracts.

Here are some of the most significant:

Neymar: 77 euros for signing a trading card

Panini America promised Neymar $50,000 for the signature of cards- about 83 dollars per unit (77 euros). Cristiano Ronaldo, meanwhile, received the figure of $175,000 for the signature of 1,000 cards and four editions of collectors' items.

70 years of confidentiality

This is what Cristiano Ronaldo asks his household employees to sign under the terms of their contracts, with the clause stating that nothing about his private life could be divulged until '70 years after the death of the player or the last of his relatives'.

Kun Aguero's sale to City

Atletico Madrid started what could be described as a veritable 'business' with the sale of the Argentine striker to wealthy Manchester City. The club receives 250,000 euros for every 15 goals scored by the player and another 250,000 euros for every 25 games in which he plays. In addition, a further sum of one million euros is payable each time City win the Premier League title.

Thomas Vermaelen's 100,000

The former Barcelona defender received a bonus of 100,000 euros per year so that the technical staff at the Camp Nou could use him as they saw fit on the pitch and club officials could also send him to official functions of their choosing.

Red boots clause for Van der Vaart

In 2015, upon signing for Real Betis, Rafael Van der Vaart agreed to a clause that stipulated that "he could use any sports shoes, but in no case may they contain red", due to this being the colour of city rivals Sevilla. Because of this, the player received 14 monthly payments of 114,428 euros.

$57 a minute

This is the figure that Ezequiel Lavezzi receives as part of his salary at Chinese side Hebei Fortune. A huge sum of 56.7 million dollars will be deposited into a Luxembourg-based account for his two years of service.

3,500 pounds if his team lost

Hugo Lloris' first contract at Tottenham contained some surprising clauses, to say the least. The player pocketed 7,000 pounds for every game in which he started, 8,000 pounds if he featured in a victory and 3,500 pounds for a draw or defeat.

2.5 million euros to the Treasury

Paris Saint-Germain paid Thiago Silva 2.5 million euros to settle the arrears he had accrued with the Italian Treasury, in order to convince the Brazilian to swap AC Milan for the Parc des Princes.

Liverpool's lack of trust in Balotelli

The Anfield giants offered the Italian 85,000 pounds a week and a bonus of 150,000 pounds for every five games played, 5,000 pounds for every goal scored and up to half a million if he top-scored in the Premier League. However, the Reds' mistrust of the player's behavioural tendencies was underlined by a clause of half a million payable should Balotelli avoid trouble on and off the pitch.

Daniel Agger, the 'historic agreement'

Agger's 3 million euro move from Liverpool to Brondby was historic due to one particular clause in his deal with the Danes. Every time the team played at home, a poster featuring the centre-back's image had to be displayed around the ground under the terms of the contract.
