Real Madrid Los Blancos planning for 2016/17 season |
Just nine days after winning the Champions League, Real Madrid's
president and first team coach had a one-on-one at the Valdebebas
training centre, where some players were receiving physical treatment
for their injuries.
This meeting had been postponed as both had to attend private
commitments, with Zidane traveling to Turin (Italy) and Perez doing so
to Casablanca (Morocco).
No time must be wasted if Madrid want to repeat or better their success next year.
Zidane doesnt want a radical squad revolution to begin his first full campaign as coach.
Several reinforcements are needed though, including a left-back,
where Marcelo is the lone specialist in case Fabio Coentrao does not
return from his loan.
The Frenchman also wants extra depth in midfield and much like their
main foes Barcelona, Real will seek a capable replacement for their
starting trio of forwards in this transfer window.
The conversation also included talk on potential loan returnees
(Coentrao, Lucas Silva, Diego Llorente), rising youngsters who should
not play for Castilla anymore (Borja Mayoral, Marcos Llorente) and, in
the case of Alvaro Morata, whether or not they must exercise a buyback
clause.
Finally, in the event Paul Pogba was landed, James Rodriguez would be shown the exit door.
