Gift items, which include sugar, salt, spaghetti, rice, danvita, and wheat meal  from billionaire, Aliko Dangote has allegedly been rejected the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Alhaji Muhammad Bello.

According to a report by ThisDay Newspaper, the food items, which were donated by the Dangote's Foundation for the Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) in Abuja, were turned down by the Minister with no reason.
It was further reported that all pleas to make Bello realise the main essence of the gesture fell on deaf ears as the minister, who was said to be in a meeting at the time of delivery, gave directives for the items to be returned.

However, the Special Adviser to the FCT Minister on Media, Abubakar Sani, has denied the allegations saying nothing of such happened.
Sani denied the report that the FCT Administration (FCTA) rejected the purported gift from Dangote Foundation to the IDPs saying “FCTA is not aware of any donations and therefore, not in the position to neither reject nor accept the said gift items. I asked who saw the said gifts and the answer was no one did.”

The Dangote Foundation, allegedly took the gift to the FCT as part of its mandate to give especially in the holy month of Ramadan for the indigent and the vulnerable in the society.
Dangote Foundation has become synonymous with the donation of money and food materials to the less privileged and victims of other disasters across the country.
