He said: “The Federal Government should support all states of the
federation and provide rapid diagnostic test kits for screening while
support must be extended to all states, and not just the 10 states
including Ondo presently affected by the disease.”
He noted that Ondo State has activated its surveillance, outbreak
control mechanism at the grassroots in addition to a sensitisation
campaign across the 18 council areas.
The health commissioner also said that Ondo, having successfully
curtailed Lassa in the state to the 2 recorded cases, is not taking any
chances that might lead to any incursion of the disease.
